Cookies & browser storage
When you connect Discord, the portal sets an essential session cookie to keep you signed in for up to seven days. It is cleared when you sign out. The cookie is Secure and HttpOnly, so site scripts cannot read it.
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. Selecting “Got it” saves only a notice acknowledgement in your browser’s local storage; it does not change your login or enable tracking. This preference stays on your device until you clear site data or we update the notice. If your browser blocks storage, the notice may appear again.
You can clear cookies and site data in your browser settings. Clearing the session cookie signs you out. Discord handles its own cookies when you visit its authorization page.
Discord identity
When you connect, the portal may store your Discord user ID, username, display name, avatar reference, server nickname, and verification timestamps for the active portal session.
No website password
Project Western does not operate a separate website username/password account system for applications. There is no website password to store.
Application responses
Your application answers, department, Discord identity, submission time, and application status may be stored so staff can review the submission and may also be delivered to configured Discord review channels.
Security metadata
Limited technical data may be converted into privacy-preserving hashes for rate limiting, abuse prevention, session security, and duplicate-submission checks.
